Each of us deserves a life of wellness, enjoyment, and opportunities to thrive. Music has the ability to transcend the brain and body. Music therapy is an evidential-based practice where those with physical, psychological, social, and emotional needs can engage in a therapeutic space using music that reflects their respective identities. Board certified music therapists are able to create personalized experiences for these individuals, designed to support their health needs, improve daily functioning and their quality of life.
I am grateful to have found music therapy where I am learning how to connect the abstract theory of music to the physical practice of healthcare. It has steered me in a direction that incorporates my passions and beliefs into a purpose. Therefore, I can apply my knowledge and energy towards a future of positive development.
